Water Rights and Infrastructure Valuations

Understanding the true value of water rights and infrastructure you own or may be seeking to acquire is the best protection of your financial and water-related assets.

If you are considering the acquisition or sale of water rights associated with ranch or farm, water storage facilities, or water treatment and water diversion and delivery infrastructure, we can assist you with determining the fair-market value.

DiNatale Water Consultants have prepared numerous water rights, water storage, and water infrastructure valuations and testified in district and water court on the value of water rights and storage. We have assisted farmers and ranchers in understanding the value of their water assets and how to maximize the current and future value. We have conducted water rights valuations of both surface and groundwater rights for municipal and agricultural clients, and metropolitan and water and sanitation districts. Many of these valuations were in support of bond issuances. Valuations have also been performed of existing and proposed storage facilities and water diversion and transmission infrastructure and used to determine both the purchase and selling price.

Example Project

Sedalia and Castle Rock Valuation

United Water and Sanitation District owned water supply infrastructure along Plum Creek in Castle Rock, Colorado that included wells, a pipeline, a reservoir, and a diversion structure. The Town of Castle Rock purchased this infrastructure from United Water and Sanitation District and DiNatale Water prepared a valuation of the water rights and infrastructure as part of the sale. After the purchase, DiNatale Water has advised the new owner-operators of the infrastructure on best practices.
